New Dole commercial: Who the heck are "they?"
As the AP reports, Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole has an ad out attacking Greensboro Democrat Kay Hagan.
"They call her 'fibber Kay' Hagan," the ad begins.
Who the heck are “they?” Now, I’m not going to say I’ve talked to all 9 million residents in North Carolina, but I get around. Until the ad aired, I never heard anyone use that moniker. (And yes, I’ve heard some people use some nicknames for Hagan, not that one though.) Here’s the ad.
In other Senate campaign news of the day, a new poll shows Hagan up in the race by five points.

Amanda Lehmert must have excellent hearing or psychic powers. The Elizabeth Dole ad she writes about does refer to "they", and it doesn't say who "they" are. Now please tell me Amanda, who are the old codgers on the front porch rocking chairs in the Kay Hagan commercial? "They" say Elizabeth Dole has been in Washington for 40 years (she's been a senator for 6). "They" say she's 92 and 93 in ranking. By what group's standard and measurement? (the old guys didn't say, but you must know) Where did "they" get this information? What are their qualifications and where did "they" get their information? "They" (the old men) didn't say how "they" came up with this information or from what knowledge and authority "they" speak.
Pretty lame to get nit-picky on one word. "They" say it's going to be hot/cold, but you don't seem too concerned with that. "They" say our taxes are too high/low. What about that? Heck, I'll bet "they" even say you're a good reporter without the least hint of bias. "They" are so smart.
