Voters are in the know
At Trinity AME Zion Church, supporters of candidates were having a tough time handing out literature for their favorite candidates.
It seems voters already had their minds made up.
"Most of the voters are informed," said Michael Hines, who was handing out flyers for Marikay Abuzuaiter, an at-large council candidate.
"To the point that they are saying, 'I don't need that,'" added Fred Cundiff II, a supporter of Tonya Clinkscale, who's running in District 1.
Philbert Neal, chief judge of the precinct, said turnout was steady at the Florida Street church. By 9:05 a.m., 60 people had voted.
A lot better, he said, then the number of people who turned out for the primary election. Only 7.2 percent of the city's registered voters showed up to vote in October.
