         <title>Southbound 85 lanes closed Wednesday</title>
         <description>Heads up, if you&apos;re coming into Greensboro Wednesday morning or afternoon on I-40/85 South: Crews will be repairing worn pavement most of the day on a three-mile stretch of the heavily traveled road.

So I-40/85 southbound will have the left 2 lanes closed just north of Rock Creek Dairy Road (Exit 135) to Mt. Hope Church Road (Exit 132). Closure in effect from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

         <title>N Elm Roundabout Closes Friday 9 a.m.</title>
         <description>The roundabout will close for seven hours or less so city transporation crews can put the last coat of asphalt on the roundabout.

Traffic on North Elm will be detoured on Old Lake Jeannette Road to Church Street and Air Harbor Road. Detour for Lake Jeanette Road is New Garden Road, Lawndale Drive and Air Harbor Road. The roundabout will reopen no later than 4 p.m., city officials say.</description>

         <title>Sandy Ridge Road</title>
         <description>A short stretch of Sandy Ridge Road will be closed for the rest of the summer starting this Friday (6/9). Highway crews will be replacing the bridge over the Deep River, requiring the closure between Squire Davis Road and Johnson Street.

         <title>Hilltop Out of Action</title>
         <description>The city of Greensboro has closed a heavily traveled section of Hilltop Road this week to link the new pavement to the new bridge over Bull Run Creek. The old bridge will then be demolished.

The road was shut down last week between Bridford and Adams Farm parkways. It is expected to reopen late Friday afternoon (6/9).

         <title>Old Hillsborough in Alamance</title>
         <description>Crews will be installing new pipe along Old Hillsborough Road in Alamance County for two weeks, starting next Monday (6/12). The road will be closed just west of Mebane Oaks Road during that time.

         <title>Forsyth, Rockingham road approvals</title>
         <description>Meeting in Raleigh last week, the state Board of Transportation approved $13.4 million in Triad road projects.
Board members approved $7.9 million to upgrade the I-40/Harper Road interchange (east of the Yadkin River) in Forsyth to a diamond configuration. Start date - 6/26. Completion - July 2008.
The board also agreed to pay $5.5 million to replace the Meadow Road bridge over the Smith River in Eden. Work to begin in September, end in late 2008.
Both jobs went to Mount Airy contractor Smith-Rowe Inc.</description>

         <title>Lewiston Road Detour</title>
         <description>State highway officials will be closing a section of Lewiston Road near Summerfield for the summer starting next Monday (6/12) to replace the existing bridge over Brush Creek.

The stretch between Jessup Grove and Pleasant Ridge roads is slated to reopen in early September.

         <title>Ramp work on Business 85</title>
         <description>Starting today, crews will be making pavement repairs on various ramps at the Business 85 and US 311 interchange. State DOT says the work is expected to last through June 2, 9 am to 3:00 pm. When necessary the ramps will be closed with signed detour routes.

         <title>Sweetbriar Road</title>
         <description>Sweetbriar Road will be closed to through traffic between Eva Lane and Old Lake Jeanette Road on Tuesday, 7:30 am and 5 pm.  A new  sewer line is being installed.  
The detour takes northbound motorists on Eastern Shores Drive, east on Willowview Drive, and then back to Sweetbriar Road on Lucas Park Drive. Vice versa for southbound.  Use caution by following the   posted route and slow down in and near the work area.

         <description>W. Bessemer Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Carolina Street and Parkway Street on Tuesday from 9 am and 4 pm.  It&apos;s for the installation of new sewer and water lines.  
The detour will take motorists westbound on W. Bessemer Ave onto Carolina Street, Irving Park Circle, then north on Parkway Street back to W. Bessemer Ave. Detour is reversed for eastbound.  Motorists are advised to use caution, follow posted detour routes and slow down when approaching the work area.
