Traffic on North Elm will be detoured on Old Lake Jeannette Road to Church Street and Air Harbor Road. Detour for Lake Jeanette Road is New Garden Road, Lawndale Drive and Air Harbor Road. The old bridge will then be demolished. The road was shut down last week between Bridford and Adams Farm parkways. It is expected to reopen late Friday afternoon (6/9). Detours are in place for all eastbound and westbound traffic, but residents of the area will have access to their homes at all times. More info? Board members approved $7.9 million to upgrade the I-40/Harper Road interchange (east of the Yadkin River) in Forsyth to a diamond configuration. Start date - 6/26. Completion - July 2008. The board also agreed to pay $5.5 million to replace the Meadow Road bridge over the Smith River in Eden. Work to begin in September, end in late 2008. The stretch between Jessup Grove and Pleasant Ridge roads is slated to reopen in early September. Until then, starting Monday, through traffic will be detoured on a route that includes Pleasant Ridge, Carlson Dairy, Horsepen Creek and Jessup Grove roads. More info?
