Silencing the Voice of Reason

At first I thought this was a joke. Nope. If you carry an X chromosome in Saudi Arabia, don't bother learning how to work a stick shift.

My nomination for Jerk Quote of the Day:

"Driving by women leads to evil," Munir al-Shahrani wrote in a letter to the editor of the Al-Watan daily. "Can you imagine what it will be like if her car broke down? She would have to seek help from men."

I agree with the first part of his quote. ;-) I once had a prolonged argument with a female friend about women drivers. She claimed that women's lower insurance rates were evidence of their being better drivers. I claimed that everything depends on how you define "bad" when it comes to driving. Insurance companies measure the tangibles, but I think the habits of bad drivers are often harder to measure.

Anyway, that's my jerk quote of the day.

Not only can't drive, but, can't vote, can't meet, can't be seen on the street, can't work, can't study etc etc.
