I need to study. Naysayers are fond of saying that lotteries cause increases in bankruptcies. I've never found hard numbers on that claim. It'll be interesting to go digging. Excuse me.....

No, i'm going to win the lotto!

We can all win ... right?

Our public education system will now magically fix itself. Money fixes everything ... right?

I guess i feel better just calling it the 'Optional Tax for the Overly Optimistic.'

While I have some reservations concerning a lottery, at least now the PEOPLE will have a chance to decide how they wish to pursue this issue. I feel it is unfair for the State Legislature to act as the "moral" guide for the people on this when that group has shown it's own "morality!"

I personally lived in Virginia for 2 1/2 years. During that time I purchased lottery tickets maybe 5 times. So, I do not feel that it will be an issue for me now. However, there are those who are foaming at the mouth to buy tickets. Sadly though, I feel that there will be some who will not spend money wisely and hurt their own selves in this endeavor.

As for all of the supposed fixes that a lottery will help, that is yet to be seen. Hopefully it will not turn into another bundoggle!

James, you can win.. after I win! so there. ^o^

Money doesn't fix everything, like for instance... bad education, but at least it can "fund" bad education. *laugh*

But more money is better off then less I would say. Unless you're talking Enron.

It's not like they're actually gonna use the money on education.
