I hear there's a fair amount of hand-wringing on this, and there appears to be some ambivalence about the concept of attacking Mecca. After all, mutually assured destruction seems to have worked during the Cold War. We're now in a War on Terror that should by definition last all of our lifetimes.

But the problem here is that the Congressman (and anyone else who thinks MAD might be a valid tool in this struggle) apparently isn't aware of the significance here. We're dealing with a man in bin Laden who has been trying to unite the Muslim world, under his leadership, to fight against nations full of people he considers evil and sub-human. Just expressing such a thought, that we might consider nuking the most holy place these people have is enough to verify our status as unthinkably evil and dangerous in the minds of Muslims.

I bet this is the best sort of aid bin Laden could hope for. All of us, particularly our representitives, need to be far more careful, in my opinion.

This is the most intelligent thing that is said so far to stop the muslim terrorism that is going on world over. Muslims are basically cowards and dull humans and that is why they have adopted the suicide bombing. At one hand they say they Islam is a religion of peace, but actually their bible called Koran is a book that asks its followers to kill all non muslims. I suggest that all US citizens should read the mad book supposed to have written by an illiterate caamel driver who was a paedeophile. Even the Kaaba at mecca is a Hindu temple taken over by Mohammad.
A simpler and better solution is to use virus in mecca to eliminate these mad community. A genetic study should be done to understand the muslim brain and this community may be suffering from some prions or virus. Toxoplasma Gondi may be a candidate which make these muslims terrorist suicide bombers. Whatever is if the humanity has to survive, the neanderthal muslims should be eliminated from the surface of the earth.
