Religious groups urge 'no' to daylight savings
Pushing sunrise back to 8:00 AM or later would make it impossible for those in certain parts of the United States to pray Shacharis (morning prayers) before work, according to one Jewish group.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops also opposes the plan.

Right, so Congress should pander to this small group of people to the deteriment of the rest of us?

Something about democracy, freedom of religion, criticizing your government, making your voice heard, and engaging the political process (all of which were still rights as I woke up this morning) seems appropriate to the above "pandering" comment.
The "rest of us" makes me smile.
Perhaps the writer should read this.

Since God is not on DLST or any other time set by man, I am sure that He will hear prayers at what ever time they are offered and not depend on the lack of or abudance of sunlight or sunrise. I beleive that He spoke more often of "seeking me early" rather than seeking me as soon as the sun comes up or shortly thereafter depending on the set time.
All the religious outcry and airline whine set aside, I would rather they get it one way or the other and leave it alone. Changing time does not suit well with the body and it takes weeks, sometimes months to acclimate to the change.

Again, this is a small group of people, who certainly are free to complain, free to pray and free to do all of those other things we champion here in America, but should their desire to have the TIME set when it suits their fancy supercede what is best for the majority? Should we just move the clock back and forth as it fits with whatever agenda of whatever group? Maybe we should have cafeteria-style laws as well?
