OK. I'll bite. "Too far" means what?

I've never seen a president seemingly pander 'to the faithful' as much as I have with this nomination. I mean, there's always been the 'wink, wink' about how a nominee's background holds true to the party, but I don't know if I've seen anything this blatant. James Dobson says Karl Rove assured him that nearly everyone in Miers' church is pro-life. Is the president's handling of her religious faith par for the course for now on?

If you ask me, he went too far in January 2001, when he created his office for funneling tax dollars to churches... but I guess that's just me.

Yes, Nancy, he has gone to fartherland, where he has no compunction saying Justice Roberts' Catholicism should have been off-limits to discuss, but Ms. Miers' evangelicism is fair to trumpet (but, undoubtedly, not to question as to how it has shaped her views on abortion).
I am about as sick as ever watching the pious preachers hop on over on my taxpaying dime to "confer and otherwise hobnob" with their fellow wizard (a.k.a. the soon-to-be-indicted and possibly felonious monk[ey], Mr. Rove).
When did appoitmnets to the highest court in the land become immune to Article 6 of the Constitution it is supposed to uphold?
