Bush's church: Get out of Iraq
If it's true that President Bush is influenced by his faith, I wonder how much influence this decision will have.

C'mon, equating faith with a church board?

Simply amazing; the same crowd that has had an ongoing love affair with Castro's Cuba and bristle everytime someone critizes his authoritarian regime now wants charges of U.S. mistreatment of terrorists to be investigated.
When the going gets tough we can always count on these faith based fans of socialist revolution to come through for the us.

Hey, Jeff, did you have to get training on how to demonize anyone who has a different opinion from yours, or does it just come naturally to you?

Many church groups, including the United Methodist Church and the Vatican, were strongly opposed to the original preemptive invasion of Iraq. It is very clear in early letters from the Vatican to Bush that "just war theory" cannot be applied to Iraq and the preemptive invasion was therefore an immoral and unjust act.
Iraq is a clear example where public vengeance and anger from 9/11 were effectively and wrongly manipulated by the Bush White House.
Support for any preemptive invasion cannot be found in the core teachings of Christianity and remains an act of raw aggression. The folks who organized this war did and still do ignore the teachings of Christ.
It would be wonderful if Bush could now actually listen to the ongoing criticism of the Iraq war from his church, the United Methodist Church.

Since Bush does not read news media, I have very strong doubts that he will even hear of this, much less read it!
For Bush to read this would cause him to be held accountable. All America knows that Bush and company are NOT to be held accountable for anything!
Shalom
