Animal sacrifice always struck me as a barbaric practice. I'd never be able to kill a harmless animal myself (though I admit I did kill many as a child... one of my many regrets from the past). If I ever decided to take up a religion, I expect it would be one that wasn't soaked in blood. Icky!

historically, the only blood scrifices that have any efficacy whatsoever were the scrifices God allowed in ancient Israel's tabernacle and temple, which derived their legitimacy from the future sacrifice of Yeshua on the cross. All else is vanity and useless religionism.
