Has it come to to this? What about the Christian "light" -- does that work anymore?

I find this interesting to say the least!

Yet, we may never know the fuller impact of what happens with Mr. Mehta.

I would like to see what happens if he should happen to find himself in a Conservative Quaker Meeting for Worship.

Mr. Mehta has to undoubted seeking something or he would not have taken the actions that he has. His inner Light is like a fire that, to me, is starting to blaze up and he is trying to discern what is transpiring.

I too will be interested to know what happens in let's say, a year!

Shalom

Heh. If anyone want to buy my soul, I'll let them have it. It's not like I'm using it or anything... But I've heard of atheists putting their souls up for auction before. It's a fun way to tweak the noses of religious folks who think a soul is an actual thing.

As for going to churches. Eh. I usually take a book along to read while they do their communion thingy. Better than sitting around, reading the bulletin.

Sorry, Nancy. It has always been terribly overrated, in my experience. I mean, other than Darryl, most of the Christians who post in these blogs aren't exactly doing a terrific job of advertising. Darryl and yourself are the coolest. IMO. of course.

Of course, this is the Wall Street journal we're talking. Try this sort of blog in Greensboro, paid for or prompted by Sid Batts or Fred Guttman. Or, any of the Baptist preachers around. No way that's gonna fly.

Has anyone read "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris (now out in paperback). He is as hard on "secular fanatics" as he is on those who rely on religious faith to support all their moral/ethical stances. By the way, Greensboro College has a visitor coming next week speaking on "How Christians Make Moral Decisions".
I hate I missed Huston Smith, too, at Guilford and First Presby.

Hi Nancy: I am not able to email directly, so I hope you read this. I wanted to alert you to a signing and brief talk at Barnes & Noble tomorrow (MONDAY APRIL 3) by a fellow named Ehrman, now on the NY Times Bestseller list for a boook titled "Misquoting Jesus". He is a former very successful, respected scholar out of Moody Bible College, who became convinced through tireless study of the physical and literary evidence of the "legendary" status of Jesus, thus realizing he (Ehrman) was an agnostic. Hope to see you there.
