Good question
I got a question from someone commenting on a blog posting:
"BTW, who is this Amy, and will Nancy be back? Just curious... "
I should have introduced myself. I'm Amy Dominello, a News & Record reporter who is helping Nancy with some of the SBC coverage. Joe Killian, another reporter, will also be posting to the blog while the SBC is in town.
And don't worry. Nancy is not going anywhere.

Hi, Amy! I didn't mean to sound hostile or anything. I was just wondering what might be happening. I hope you enjoy your stint babysitting us. {;-)

Stick around Amy. At least there is more than one or two new topics a week since you have arrived.

Huh. You'd think that Nancy has nothing better to do with her time than post threads. A lot of the time, I'm surprised she has time to do as much as she does.

I'll be suspicious of Joe's reporting. Why? I don't think he is objective or knowlegable about Southern Baptists and their theology. How about you Amy?

I thought this was part of her job Eric. Seems as if the other staffers( Doug, Allen, John) on the N&R can manage to post a few more threads than what seems to appear on this blog.
If she is that busy perhaps they need to replace her on this blog with someone who has time to do the job and do it well.

I don't claim to be an expert on any religion.
But I do try and keep an open mind. I hope that you all have found my reporting and blogging fair and accurate.
I was just along for the ride while the SBC was in town and to give your hard-working religion reporter Nancy McLaughlin a much-needed assist.

I am very happy Nancy does the job as conscientiously as she does. But, frankly, if the religions reporter is among the busiest at a local newspaper, the area's just too darn nuts.

Self-diagnosed ethics-and-spirituality debate nut speaking, of course.

Freddy, having spent three years on this beat (in the late '90s), I can assure you that from the standpoint of a religion/ethics reporter, this area is a target-rich environment. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
And I don't want to speak for Nancy, but I know she has been extremely tied up in recent weeks on the "Alice's Miracle" package, which required her to take a number of day trips to Winston, among other things.

I don't know whether he is or not, CS, but I think the fair thing to do would be to let him stand or fall on the merits of that reporting rather than prejudging him.

The proof is in your article today. Good work young lady.

Appreciate the insight, Lex. You and Amy are both welcome to the interesting verbal sparring match that is the Front Pew blog. The game's afoot.
