North or South?
As the candidates for SBC president were being announced Tuesday afternoon, the delegates were told they could vote for "Frank Page of North Carolina."
But wait. Page, who went on to win, is a Greensboro native. But he lives in South Carolina now.
So was he going for the home state vote?
Nah, reports our religion reporter, Nancy McLaughlin. The announcer just got his Carolinas mixed up.

Were/are they Eric? You never know, there may be some closet moderates there!

"Moderate" is a fluid, relative term. Fred Phelps might be a moderate when compared to Jim Jones, but that's small comfort. When i was a member at Immanuel, there were a few folks that were able to see shades of gray when talking about matters of theology and philosophy. None of us stayed very far past 1990.

Eric, Fred Phelps profile is closer to the Waco Whacko, David Koresh. He would be more apt to have a stand off than to drink kool-aid. Drinking poison would not get him maryters status while a stand off with a hail of bullets and fire would certainly fit his need for attention. He is a very dangerous man!

Yes, he's a danger to himself and others. I sometimes wonder if he does some of his BS in order to try and make Christianity in general look bad to outsiders. If that were the case, I think he would be said to be a failure.
