I don't know if this was a classic church-goer shakedown Nancy. The story says that the corporation was founded in 1948, and appears not to have operated with defrauding people as a goal. It looks like they got caught up in a real-estate "bubble" and did "an Enron." Which is bad enough to be sure...

Baptists are no more immune to greed than any other religious group. This just proves that NO ONE is immune!
