Religious cosmologies and homicide rates

It's weird how religion aims to curb violence and how it incites it. Is it the 'cosmic struggle between God and the Devil' or has society (every religion has a so-called philosopher or leader) simply lost its ability to reason and respond?

By your fruits shall you be known. These are very true words, and it's very much the case with religion. If there was ever a religion that invariably led its adherents to be more peaceful and loving, I would be inclined to think that there was something "otherworldly" about it. Far more so than any thing currently on the market.

But regardless of the religion, you will find both the good and the bad. Which only goes to show that everyone in those religions are simply humans trying to figure out the way to live using imperfect guidance.
