1: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3: Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4: Enter into his gates with THANKSGIVING, and into his courts with praise: BE THANKFUL unto him, and bless his name.
5: For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all.

Make a joyful noise unto the universe, Nikos. Because there's no God out there listening to your noises at all.
Now, if you could try actually posing some thoughts of YOUR OWN to all these threads today, why, it'd be just SUPER.
Happy HOLIDAYS!

What a staggaring lack of humility in the face of such an intricate, beautiful and intelligent creation.
My thoughts are inconsequential in the light of God's marvelous revelation. What thoughts I do have are only meaningful and truthful when in line with God's. "If any man baost, let him baost in the Lord."

And risk jeopardizing his faith? Why, don't be so silly.

Jesus Himself, said that He only spoke those things that the Father showed Him. Are we wiser than He? St. Paul said that Christians have the "mind of Christ." Is there a higher mind?
And so, as a redeemed son of God, having the Spirit of God dwelling within me, and the Word of God before me, I humbly seek to speak the truth in love. I often fall short, but I know no higher aspiration than to strive to be "a workman that needeth not to be ashamed."
Jesus,as the True Vine, also assured us: "without Me you can do nothing." I take Him at His Word, and find my joy and purpose and ability only in Him, in whom are found "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and thier fooish hearts were darkened. Professiong to be wise, they became fools."
(Romans 1:20-22)
Soli Deo Gloria!

I've been reading "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins this week and there was a great cover story in Wired magazine last month titled "The New Athiests"- all about the evangelical athiest movement.
Really interesting.

I thought the video in Nancy's link was amusing, but the whole idea of fighting back against door-to-door "God botherers" as some call them, is pretty flimsy. I've only had 2 visits at my door in the past 4 years. I only had 1 while I was living in Mississippi. I can tolerate that, and just send the poor souls who show up on their way without a chance to pester me. I'm too old for doorstep arguments.
Similarly, I don't try to "de-convert" anyone. I know that the human brain's natural functions make religion pretty much inevitable. Personally, I think that atheist activists should take on a far different "mission" if they're going to be in the public eye.
But I guess that's another similarity that atheists have with gays -- some are practical folks who just want to be accepted by society, others feel it's necessary to be flamboyant. Sort of strange, that...
