The Marines will take Jesus, after all.
Would you be offended if your child got one of these? I mean, it's a Christmas program, right?

"Offended"? Yeah, a fair bit. Not only is this obviously a ploy for proselytizing, but it's about as lame a toy as I've encountered in all the years I've dealt with toys. And 've dealt with toys for a good many years, bucko!
I can just see some poor kid whose parents couldn't afford to get him any presents, getting this to put under the tree. Kid runs out, hoping to get something from Santa that's fun to play with, something to make the grind of poverty a little easier to live with. And what does said kid get? A bearded doll that says "None can come to the father except through me."
Yep -- there's a memorable Christmas in the making there... Oy vey!

Poor kid gonna be wondering "What did I do wrong?".

"A suburban Los Angeles company offered to donate 4,000 of the foot-tall dolls, which quote Bible verses, for distribution to needy children this holiday season."
Why would a muslim or jewish family be participating in a "Christmas" program?

Rebel, I guess they would be doing the same thing a Christian would be doing participating in a pagan holiday.

Ah yes the Holiday Season (AKA as the insensitivity season is upon us). Sarah Jones in a Thanksgiving article (11/15/2006)informed us that Thanksgiving is the season for Guilt and not Thanks.

Hello Dollies, It's so good to have you back where you belong! (Just fitting in with the spirit of this whole lubdicrous debate)

Ludicrous or lugubrious... works either way for me. Me, I'm looking forward to a few days off and the opportunity to do a little snarking at the poor folks who haven't finished their gift-buying yet.
