Mixed blessing for Romney?

Will Americans react to Romney's Morman faith the way some did when JFK was making strides to the White House as the first Catholic president:

"Mormons are fueling his (Mitt Romney's) strong fundraising operation, which this week reported raising $21 million, the most of any Republican candidate. And they are laying the foundation for a potent grass-roots network -- including a cadre of young church members experienced in door-to-door missions who say they are looking forward to hitting the streets for him.”

Seems to me that Romney is his own worst enemy in this race. Being a Mormon is one thing -- getting an army of Mormon supporters to canvass neighborhoods will only scare an awful lot of potential voters away.

Then again, any review of his political record will scare away anyone who isn't scared by phalanxes of Mor-bots. To go from pro-choice to anti-choice, from supporting gun-control to being an NRA member... that sort of thing should make anyone wonder whether they can rely on him for any bloody thing.
