Next time I'm in Charlotte and have an hour or so to throw away, I might just drop in to have a look. Specifically, I want to see if this monument to this servant of Jesus mentions Billy's days of giving advice to Tricky Dick while America was bombing villages in Cambodia... that would be funny.
Seriously, though, I wonder how many actual "converts" are going to call this place their turning point? When I say "convert" I mean someone who went in not believing anything about Christianity, but came out ready to get baptized. I'd be willing to bet not many.

eric,
was your conversion from Christianity to atheism prompted by one event in your life ....or was it a gradual process based upon many events ? having read many of your posts over several years i believe it wad the latter. often times it is so with conversion to Christianity - it is numerous exposures over a length of time to the Gospel message.
to hear you tell, B.G. library will be a failure if many who are exposed to this ministry do not instantaneously convert to Christianity. and what you utterly fail to realize is that what is impossible with man - is easy for God. not everyone who converts to Christianity has a saul/paul experience on the damascus road. more likely many are converted by the word of God, the daily observation of Godly people and the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

"to hear you tell, B.G. library will be a failure if many who are exposed to this ministry do not instantaneously convert to Christianity."
Actually, what I expect to happen with this building (I refuse to consider a building not built to house books a "library") is that it will have about the same effect as Mr. Graham had. It will convince those who go in wanting to be convinced, strengthen the beliefs of those who are wavering in their beliefs, and help indoctrinate the children of those who want to indoctrinate their children anyway.
This has been the way Graham has operated all his life and how he defines his success. So in that respect it will most likely be some sort of success, at least for a while. But I expect it will never change, and society will most likely pass it by after a decade or so. I'll keep an eye on it, just for the sake of curiosity, to see whether my guess is.
