"The staunch Catholic envisioned a community that would draw residents who shared his Catholic values..... his goal is to help as many people as possible get to Heaven."
i'm uncertain who the rcc is allowing to can get to heaven these days...not too long ago it was their stance that only catholics go to heaven (i believe they have softened that a bit lately)....so i wonder how he intents to help more people get to heaven....he has made it clear he prefers those who share his catholic belief.
seems like he stands to make alot of money off the sales of 11,000 homes, huh!

Constitutionally, it should probably stand the test. To legally suppress it would be to "prohibit the free exercise thereof," it seems to me. I like the idea of building Christian communities where sin and depravity are curtailed. But building isolated communities by Christains has always been met with frustration; and the idea of being salt and light in the midst of society is somehow neglected in the process. Granted, the community itself could be seen as a witness to the rest of society. The idea of building a counter-cultural civilization is good, but a real challenge - and this may not be the best way. But I've heard of worse ideas.
As to getting to heaven - that can ONLY happen by hearing and believing the Gospel of grace and justification by faith alone. The chances of that message being accurately procalimed in a RC context is unlikely. And Mary (the Ave Maria name) is not co-redemptrix; there is only "one mediator between God and man: the man Christ Jesus." The Church can save no one! She only points and leads to the One who can, and does.
