Prayer controversy at City Hall

Nancy asked if I could fill in with some blog postings while she's out of the office. She can be so demanding. Of course I kid Nancy. Always glad to help a co-worker in need.

Something we're following:

A local activist group is expected to ask the High Point City Council tonight to start its meetings with a prayer in Jesus' name instead of the nonsectarian prayer the panel has been using since November at the request of the state ACLU.

We'll have a story about it tomorrow.

The ACLU is part of the devil's ministries. The devil is destroying the family and our nation. The more we take GOD out of our nation, the more GOD is going to take his hands off our nation. Our nation was founded on the Bible and freedom of religion, not islam & etc. which do not have GOD as the head. There is only one true GOD.

I love the LORD JESUS CHRIST and USA.

Please turn to the LORD JESUS CHRIST for salvation.

CoG, I disagree with the words posted.

I have great concern for the lack of knowledge/information about God with this statement; "The more we take GOD out of our nation, the more GOD is going to take his hands off our nation."

If this is truly believed, then I state unashamedly that you have no belief whatsoever in the omniscience or omnipotence of God!

Next, this comment is totally false; "Our nation was founded on the Bible and freedom of religion, not islam & etc. which do not have GOD as the head." This statement contradicts itself when noting, "Our nation was founded...freedom of religion...." and then states, "not islam & etc. which do not have GOD as the head." How sad to have a double standard.

And regarding this nation being founded on the Bible, how humorous. Most of those MEN who were instrumental in the founding of the US were deists. The Bible was basically a religious book. Even more, the author of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, Thomas Jefferson, was skeptical of the Christian Scriptures. He rewrote the gospels WITHOUT the miracles because he DID NOT believe in them.

So, before spouting off seeking to make the US a Christian Theocracy, learn history and theology. Then examine the truth of the matter.

This country is based on freedom of religion, it is heritage and the dream of the forefathers of this great nation!!! There IS going to be a seperation of "church and state" and it is called the Rapture, until then....Those who love God should be able to say so and those who don't they can say so too. But just because a person has a conflict with Jesus Christ doesn't mean those of us who love Him are going to shut up...in fact I can prophesy of a coming generation that will not be silenced...they will be nameless and faceless....and mighty in the power of God...and they are upon us.Those who don't believe in Jesus have that right but don't try to stop me from praying just because you are offended or don't agree YOUR RIGHTS END WHERE MINE BEGIN...I am sick and tired of people trampling all over the name of My God. I say in the Name of Jesus, ARISE CHURCH.... ARISE and SHINE and FIGHT the good fight of faith...
