This blog is fast becoming an on-line Enquirer. This is just bad stuff. As a Christian, it's truly sad to see the sin overwhelm those who profess Christ. I am truly sorry for Juanita, and wish her speedy recovery. But there's obviously a lot more beneath the surface here than can be readily seen.

All too often today, even among Christians, issues that should have been dealt with in the early stages of teaching, counseling and discipleship are left to fester and emerge in very ugly ways. Big TV money and notariety become a shield for full disclosure and background integrity.

As the bumper sticker says: "I'm not perfect, just forgiven." Even so, one expects better from those who profess a genuine relationship with Christ - especially those in the public eye. Personally I do not like Bynum's message or her style. Its biblical moorings are VERY loose. All this TV charismatic bluster is light years away from the demeanor of either Jesus or the Apostles - or the humble, servant saints of history. There's room for bold delivery and personality differences; but this ranting and yelling stuff is pure hype. Much sound and fury, signifying way too little!

This has reverberations of the recent Tammy Bakker ____ story. The TV thing is just too lacking in accountability and wisdom. Too much money and too little true righteousness and holiness.

Let's do pray for Juanita, and TV Christianity in general! Big changes need to be made.

This is just another story of love gone wrong. This time it was with people of religious nature. Even people of faith are not excluded from maritial troubles. Faith does not exempt humans from humanity.

It is just sad that it was not just an argument, there were physical blows (assault). That makes it worse imho. Disagreeing is one thing, however, to take a disagreement to physical blows is just wrong!

Shalom

Interesting. It seems that the devil made him do it.

What a load of horse fritters...

eric,
in all fairness let's look at the statement he actually made "blamed the devil for the accusation that has him facing two felony charges"...........
unless i'm having comprehension problems here, he is NOT saying the devil made HIM do it - he is stating the devil is responsible for OTHERS accusing him for doing it. can you see the difference?
seems as though the 'horse fritters' you wanted us to believe is just that...but nice try.

So he's saying that his estranged wife- and witnesses to her beating, are all lying and that the devil's behind their lies?
My, what a big man he is.
May his collection plates run dry.

Oh, so his wife is lying, and he never laid a hand on her. Either that, or he did beat her up and he shouldn't have been accused of a crime?

It seems to me that if a man beats his wife, he should be accused and tried for that, and "the devil" need never enter into the process, wouldn't you say?

Well, it IS kind of hard to send the devil a bill for defending him.
" The Bishop"- not so much.
