ATLANTA -- The Southern Christian Leadership Conference has backed off its vow to honor accused dog fight promoter Michael Vick at its convention this week.
"I said, 'Stay on point, the convention is bigger than a particular man,' " Brooks said. "There are a lot of young people who need our help. Michael Vick is not one of them."

No doubt the SCLC folks heard a LOT of noise from around the country about their plan. Seems like they'll have to look around for a slightly more admirable guy to put on a pedestal this year...
