Welcome to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
"God values men and women equally, any student here (Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) will tell you. It's just that he's given them different responsibilities in life: Men make decisions. Women make dinner."

This article would be funny if I knew it wasn't true. It sounds like a bad Thursday night sitcom. This is the 21st century and these people want to resurrect Ward and June Cleaver? Are they going to have a class on what jewelery to wear when they're slaving over that hot stove every night? This sort of "The woman belongs in the kitchen" attitude should have went out thirty years ago. And back in the fifties "kitchen " was invariably followed by "barefoot and pregnant". With all the strides forward that have been made in the area of equal rights, these people would have us ignore all that and turn back the clock a hundred years. "Men make decisions" and "Women make dinner"? How arrogant does a man have to get or how low does a woman's self-esteem half to be to look down upon women in this way?

Rebelsnake, consider the source of these statements, etc. and it should not be difficult to understand what is sought.
The people running the SBC today are no more baptist than the proverbial "man in the moon!" While they have the "name" baptist, they share NOTHING in common with their baptist foremothers and forefathers.
They are a large part of the reason I felt it time to leave the SBC nearly 20 years ago. I do no regret that decision in the least.
Shalom
