NFL sacks churches, who ask 'why'?
"There is a part of me that says, 'Gee, doesn't the NFL have enough money already?'" said Steve Holley, Immanuel's executive pastor. He pointed out that bars are still allowed to air the game on big-screens TV sets. "It just doesn't make sense."

wouldn't it be nice if all those who planned on attending their church to watch super bowl on big screen tvs, instead go to the bars which are allowed to use big screens - they kill two birds with one stone - get to watch the super bowl and be a witness to the others in the bar !

Perhaps this was the Lord's doing: causing His people to think twice about haivng this secular, paganistc affair within the evirons of the woship area. Just a thought.

I agree with you Nikos. It is most likely the Lord's doing. I've never agreed with the whole Super Bowl party instead of church idea. I love the "prayer" and "teaching" they have during half-time. How nice of them to "fit" God in. This is just another reason why the church continues to lose respect in our society.
Luke 18:8 says, "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
Or will he find em' watching the Super Bowl?????

forgive the pun, but - balls.
"This telecast is copyrighted by the NFL for the private use of our audience. Any other use of this telecast or any pictures, descriptions, or accounts of the game without the NFL's consent is prohibited."
that's clear enough. the NFL is merely ensuring that their legal policy is followed, by everyone. whether it's God's will or not is irrelevant. it's the law of the land.
