"A denomination that some say, for the most part, has lost its 'evangelistic passion'

Total membership in the Southern Baptist Convention dropped nearly 40,000 last year, prompting one official to declare America's second-largest faith group officially a "denomination in decline."
I'm not sure if "evangelistic passion" is the reason. But some of you know better than me.

The sheer lunacy of the SBC has finally caught up. Or maybe that number is due to roll clean-up in churches. Either way, it seems that the boasting has caught up with the SBC.

What a shallow, pejorative comment, bereft of fact and reasonable analysis. For one thing, a lot of the "moderates" (read: crypto liberals) have form their own group; som e even leaving the donomination altogether. But even 40,000 is nothing compared to the millions the liberal donminations have lost.
