You (and your pet) are invited...

Service for the Blessing of Animals at Glenwood United Methodist Church

When: Noon, April 5

Where: Glenwood United Methodist Church, 1417 Glenwood Avenue, Greensboro NC 27403
(The service will be held outside on the church lawn.)

Who: You and your pet! All are invited! Please bring your well behaved pet on a leash or in a carrier.

Why: Our pets are much loved creatures of God and we celebrate the bond between pets and their humans.

I guess I should just say, "That's nice; all those cute little kitty cats, doggies and hamsters." OK, it's not a biggie; but I do wonder if they thought of having a blessing of all the unborn babies that can't be there because they're in a dumpster somewhere?

It never ceases to amaze me how much more concern and care we seem to bestow on animals these days than on children. I know several couples who are deferring to have kids in favor of dogs or cats. What a terrible indictment of our godless age. What the heck: we're all just animals that sprang from the primal ooze - Cats, dogs, amoebas, viruses - all the same.
