99 superheroes

KUWAIT CITY -- Naif al-Mutawa was in a London taxi with his sister when she asked when he'd go back to writing children's books. Mutawa, a Kuwaiti psychologist with two doctorates and an MBA from Columbia, said the question sparked a chain of thoughts:

To go back to writing after all that education, it would have to be something big, something with the potential of Pokémon, the Japanese cartoon that was briefly banned by Saudi religious authorities. God would have been disappointed by that, he thought; God has 99 attributes, or names, including tolerance.

"And then the idea formed in my mind," Mutawa said. "Heroes with the 99 attributes."

Oh well, I guess they better revise it to 98 names. This one seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Fortunately for you, there are about a billion Muslims who take tolerance seriously and pose no threat to you or anyone else. If not, you wouldn't be here.

Only because they can't do it themselves - only through their proxy heroes. No threat! - tell that to the hundreds of men, women and children who were slaughtered mercilessly on 9/11, as millions of "gentle, pacifist" Mohammetans either openly or secretly CHEERED as the news resounded across the Muslim world!!!! Or consider the innumerable plots and schemes, here and abroad, to complete the job the 9/11 terrorists started; known and unknown to the public. Virtually every Mosque and Madrassa is a potential base of operations, as reports indicate. Every square block they take in America is considered Sharia territory - forever! How UTTERLY naive we are, poorly read, and uneducated to universal Mulsim goals and MOs. It is a demonic pseudo-relgion, violent in its MO, and hell-bent on world conquest - not through the loving persuasion of a Gospel of forgiveness; but through ANY means at their disposal.

The problem with tolerance is that if there is indeed Truth - absolute, perfect and divine Truth, then everything else is either a deceptive patchwork counterfeit, or out-right lies and superstition. Jesus said: “I am the way, the TRUTH and the life.” The OT Law, and the fulfillment thereof by Jesus, is God’s revealed way of salvation, life and eternal destiny, based solely on Messiah’s atonement on the Cross. There is no other atonement, no other supreme Truth, and no other alternative spirituality.

Tolerance in the Scriptures is MERCY, not spiritual symbiosis. God tolerated man’s sinfulness and rebellion over the centuries only because He had a grand design for salvation and “the restitution of all things” in Messiah; not because He “tolerates” sin for one second.

So also Christians (true, biblical ones) yield to God’s divine plan and do not “judge before the time” i.e. hate, injure or oppress non-Christians. It is our duty and calling, however, to proclaim the Gospel of grace AND to advance the Kingdom of God “on earth as it is in heaven” – for the blessing and salvation of all who will come to faith. This entails the establishment of God’s Law/Word as the moral standard for all men, and the conformity of all government and social conventions to that Law/Word – through the preaching of the Gospel and all peaceful and proper means: voting, political action, and public apologetics (as in this blog).

Fortunately, in this country, this is the MO of all change; whether toward a Marxist/Humanist, Muslim, or Scientologist social vision (just to be fair and balanced). Christians, if they are biblical ones, know, through inner transformation and revelation, that Jesus is the supreme revelation of the Father, and that the precepts of biblical Law and Gospel grace are the foundation for true justice, peace, and prosperity. That other religions possess partial aspects of the Law and spiritual truth only testifies to the universality of God and His Truth. But ONLY Messiah IS the Truth, and only the NT culmination of OT prophecy and revelation is the pure, unalloyed and complete Truth. Thus we, proclaim, thus we live, and thus we work - that His “Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven,” knowing that ultimately “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord . . . to the glory of God the Father.”
