More controversy over "a man and a woman"
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), bitterly divided over sexuality and the Bible, set up another confrontation Friday over its ban on ordaining non-celibate gays and lesbians.
The denomination's General Assemblyvoted 54 percent to 46 percent to drop the requirement that would-be ministers, deacons and elders live in "fidelity within the covenant of marriage between and a man and a woman, or chastity in singleness."
LONDON (AP) — The Archbishop of Canterbury spoke out Monday against plans by conservative Anglicans to set up their own global fellowship of those who rejected the liberal teachings of north American and British churches.

"The denomination allows ministers to bless same-sex unions, but the ceremonies can't mimic marriage ceremonies." (from article)
How can man “bless same-sex unions” when the God the Church has historically acknowledged, worshiped and honored has decreed it to be an abomination? This is more slippage along the slippery slope of corruption. Whenever Israel denied God’s decrees and ceased to live in harmony with his Law, they came under divine discipline, even to the point of bondage in Babylon and ultimate dissolution as a nation. In the same way, these liberal Sodomite-approving denominations (ECUSA, UCC, etc.) are losing membership and revenues, and experiencing all kinds of internal strife and division. God’s ultimate judgment upon them will be their complete demise – as Christian institutions! What they will morph into is hard to imagine at this point; but it will be unrecognizable as Christian, or biblical. They are barely so now.
Apparently, the gay “clergy” want not only to be ordained as gays, but to be free to live in open sin before their congregations, sending the signal that their parishioners too can ignore God’s Word and engage in the same debased sexual perversion. The decision to go in the gay sex direction sounds the death-knell, not for only these churches, but for our nation as a whole, for the Church sets the standard for the moral and spiritual practice of a culture. In this case, it is a total failure.
I used to really wonder how the Israelites, who had been miraculously delivered from bondage and received the Law and atonements, could slide so easily into sin and idolatry. Now I see the apostate church in American doing the same thing. Once one denies the truth of God’s Law/Word, blindness creeps over his understanding, and the slide into depravity and ruin begins – individually or nationally. Only a major divine intervention can save this fast-declining nation from its moral freefall.
If Obama and the baby-killing Dems win this presidential election I fear we will not recover until we have slid to the bottom of the slope. The Republicans are little better; but the liberal socialist Dems seem to embrace (policy-wise) moral depravity at every turn, from gay “marriage” to partial-birth infant murder. Both parties seem to have little interest in relying on the Word of God for moral clarity and policy making. But the real blame must ultimately rest upon the Church for caving to unbelief and apostate doctrine. Here the PCUSA is caving big time. May God have mercy upon them – and this nation.

Nikos, give evidence to support stance rather than opinion and tradition. And for a refreshing change, give new evidence that has not been touted time and time again.
By the way, I thought that you were a member of a splinter Presbyterian group, not the mainstream Presbyterian's.
Shalom
