"Teach the Controversy"

I posted a link to this on Culture Shock last week, but I thought this audience might be interested as well:

There's a new line of t-shirts from Wear Science that encourage creationists to "teach the controversy" in theories beyond evolution.

I've heard a lot of people saying they dig the one with the Aliens and the pyramids, but my personal favorite is the one with the universe revolving around the Earth.

I saw those last week, on Usenet. They're cool, but I don't think that the Creationists will see the point. They rarely "get" such humor, in my experience.

Namac:

I wasn't aware that you spent much time with creationists. From what I have read, you have nothing but contempt for them, and I cannot believe that you keep them in your company. How is it then that you can opine on what they find humerous?

There are a number of things that die-hard evolutionist cannot explain, i.e., where did the first matter come from? Apparently, matter, and then life sprang out of nothing. Forgive me if I am a little incredulous. Science, to be called science, must be tested over and over again and produce the same results. Gravity passes this test (just jump out your window and see if it works), evolution does not.

Evolution is every bit a dogma and religion as, say Christianity, Unfortunately, evolutionists are not willing to concede the problems with their models, instead they ridicule those who disagree with them. This is not rational debate, but school yard bullying. Unlike Christianity, however, evolution necessarily stands for the proposition that humans are here by accident and, therefore, are not inherently valuable; they are just another form of life. For this reason, evolution, at least among its more feverent adherents, necessarily leads one to agnosticism, if not atheism. Christianity, on the other hand, says man (and women) are created by God for a relationship with God, loved by Him (yes, God is a he) and are intrisically valuable. Hence the huge outpouring of Christian charity and good works during the past two thousand years. (Name me one hospital or charity for the care of others started by an atheist?)

I fear for the day when the radical creationists/humanist get there way. Human life will be very much cheaper (but apparently life will become much better for the Great Apes as Spain has now accorded them "rights". I hope Spainish politicians did not break this news to the Silverbacks while they were eating their vomit; the apes may have lost their appetite.)

LOL! It appears that I'm "keeping company" with one right now! :)

Nice piece, Antonio. Namtac and other evolutionaists will not address the thorny issues of ultimate origin, because there is no answer apart from divine design and creation. This is not to say that creationists don't have their own thorns to deal with, some of which will have to wait 'till eternity for complete resolution.

In the mean time, God has revealed to us all that we "need for life and gosliness." Life NOW is the pressing issue, and God's Word gives proveable, verifiable propositions for everyday living. "If you sow to the flesh you will reap corruption; if you sow to the Spirit you will reap everlasting life." Pressty clear! Humanism only gives us formulas for more baby-killing, divorce, STD-AIDS, failed schools, and national chaos. The choice for moral and reasonable minds is clear: "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Baby killing?

That's sooooo last century. The of-the-moment "humanist" is actually into baby EATING now.

Get with it, man.

I can't keeping taking time out of my busy schedule of rubbing cocaine into my gums and spreading STDs to bring you up to speed.

Nikos, just a question; what are the theocratic countries in the world like right now?

And so far, it appears I was right - not a single Creationist got the original joke that was the subject of the thread. LOL!

"Baby killing? That's sooooo last century."

YES, BABY KILLING. There, I said it again. Because that's EXACTLY what it is. What the heck does it matter what century the truth is stated in. Infanticide is not a trendy, designer procedure. Abotions (partial-birth and otherwise) will forever be hideous acts of child murder - an abomination before God. The Scripture says that those who have a casual and calloused attitude toward sin have their consciences "seared with a hot iron." You are in danger of being morally cauterized.

"Get with it, man"

No, YOU get with it, and open your eyes to the truth. If you do finally see the Truth, you will be utterly horrified that you advocated abortion of infants - if that's what you're advocating by your almost unintelligible, ad hominem rant. I had you figured for better than that, Joe, by your previous entry. You seemed half-way reasonable and fair. I guess I was wrong.
