Hagee and Lieberman -- united against the 'new Hitler of the Middle East'
Some in the Jewish community have expressed distrust of Christians United for Israel, believing its members are only supporting Israel in their belief that an establishment of Zion is required before Jesus Christ can return.
Jews wouldn't have a part in that belief of salvation.
It's not, said the Rev. John Hagee, founder, that his group wants to speed up Armageddon
"We stand with Israel because we have a Bible mandate to stand with Israel," he said during a joint Christians United for Israel platform with Sen. Joe Lieberman.

No one who has studied dispensationalism and its ramifications in fundementalist thinking would ever doubt that Hagee, et al. are supporting Israel primarily because of their end times doctrines. They proof text the scripture about cursing for those who do not advocate for Abraham and his desendants. Their pseudo-eschatology trumps the fact that Israel rejected their Messiah, persecuted His followers, and were judged by Roman legions in 70 and 135 AD. Modern Israel is a mix of hyper-orthodox radicals and outright atheistic liberals.
However, I do indeed believe that God has a purpose in bringing the Jews back to Palestine, but it is not becuase they are still faithful to either the Old Covenant or the New. His purpose is to bring them to the place where they will bow the knee to Yeshua as their true and glorified Messianic King - then they will enter into the fulness of God's ancient promises, and not before.
We (the US) should not abandon them to the Islamic wolves, but we should also not glorify them as faithful OT Jews worthy of our unconditional financing. They are sinners just like everyone else, and in great need of their Messiah. Any reading of history will reveal that they have been less than just and pure when it comes to taking the land by manipulation and force.
It's all about vindicating dispensational egos and their miscontrued eschatology.
