The aftermath of immigration raids

Gone were all but two members of the choir he had assembled over the years. Gone were all but one of the eight altar servers. Gone were the husbands from the weddings he had performed, and gone were the fathers of the children he had baptized.

This comment by one of the personas con brazalete speaks to the knowledge of this illegal persons; "I know there are laws,...." It is a sad testimony of the US government to have waited so long to have enforced the law of the land.

It is another sad testimony for any church to offer sanctuary to anyone an go against basic laws of the country in which they are located. Even though these illegals are in custody, they are not treated in a terrible manner. Their housing, food, and medical needs are being met.

The last and most sad testimony of this whole mess is that these US companies hired these illegals to work without making certain that they were legal to work in the US!

We can not catch enough of this law breakers. They come here and get free medicine, free school, and nC students are left out of the best schools. If time yoy take a seat for the illegals, that is one seat less for NC residents children to nget in school.

Every time you take a seat for the illegals, that is one seat less for NC residents children to get in school. Question if someone broke into your house, would you think that is OK? Wonder what jail you be in if you broke into China?

Yes, I agree, Darryl, it is a shame that we took so long to enforce our democratically derived laws regarding illegal entry. It's a shame for these poor people as well; but our government is to blame for the situation. This article is simply a emotion-based tactic of those who want to create sympathy for those who broke the law of the land. I'm afraid that our government is going to continue the sad policy of allowing illegals to invade our land instead of legally entering it, like millions of legal immigrants have in the past.

And it is patently unfair, even criminal, to deprive those who wish to enter legally and repsonsibly, while invaders pour across our southern border, for which we are paying a very heavy price. Every sovereign state has a right to enforce its borders. Not only does it beg for terrorists to exploit, but causes all manner of social, cultural and economic disruptions - even crises. But the rich, arrogant politicians in DC could care less as they line their pockets to win the next election with the aid to the (illegal) Hispanic vote.

I truly feel for the hispanic women and children who must pay for their men's crime; but I feel far more for my country, as it is radically tranformed and threatened by this disgraceful debacle.
