Yes, it's come to this

Bradley LaShawn Fowler, 39, of Canton, Michigan is seeking $60 million from Zondervan Publishers and another $10 million from Thomas Nelson Publishing in lawsuits flied in U.S. District Court of the Easton District of Michigan, reports the Grand Rapids Press.

Fowler states that he's suing the two major Christian publishers for violating his constitutional rights and causing emotional pain, because the Bible versions they publish refer to homosexuality as a sin.

Nancy, this is a poor title for this topic.

Mr. Fowler is just seeking monetary damages from one who has helped to foster the pain that many GLBT people have felt. This is because of the using poor translative work in areas that are totally unclear.

So yes, is has come to this, holding people accountable, not suing to do so. That aspect has long been at the forefront!

Did I read this story correctly? This guy is suing a publisher for printing a slightly altered text for the KJV Bible - and this "violated his First Amendment rights"? Well, the story says that he's suffered mental instability for many years now, and one can't rightly deny this, based on the information presented in the story. But whether the publisher is responsible, that's a question that really doesn't need to be debated in a court.

For real, how ridiculous does a lawsuit have to get?

I can certainly feel for this fellow's pain. But the lawsuit is the very definition of frivolous.

Why is this a poor title, Darryl? The phrase infers that we have come to a point of desperation or extremity; and indeed we have. These kinds of sycophant tactics are typical of the gay lobby's attempts to gain power and acceptance. The Bible is CLEARLY against Sodomy and sexual corruption from beginning to end. It is also another clear indicator that the arch enemy of Sodomites is the Word of God, which they must neutralize at all costs. They know that God and His true Church will NEVER give in to them, and allow them to go unimpeded in their quest to sodomize our culture. This may be a frivolous lawsuit, but the implications of its intent are horrific, should it, or one like it, succeed in setting legal precedent for censoring Christians for proclaiming the truth of Scripture. It is all part of the warfare for the soul and survival of our nation. If we ensconce Sodomy like we have abortion, the future is ominous at best.

Then your marriage will break up if those neighbors are in a committed relationship- It will happen through some sort of gay osmosis!

You better get to the store and buy all the alumininum foil you can find and start covering your windows and make yourself a little hat
too.
Look out Nikos, they are coming to your neighborhood!

A question occurred to me, only barely related to this thread. I think it's ridiculous to expect existing marriages of heterosexual couples to be changed in any way by the start of gay marriages.

What I wonder is: would Christian couples who are thinking of getting married decide not to do so if gays are included in the state definition of marriage? Again, as Alice pointed out, the existence of gay pairs that are recognized as married by the state shouldn't have any effect on such decisions. Should it?

Again, you are both missing it altogether! It is not a matter of gay marriages dierectly affecting hetero marriages. It is about the moral rightness of it. The Scriptures either directly, or indirectly, exclude all perversions of God's intended model of one man (Adam) for one woman (Eve) in a holy and blessed union (marriage ceremony). It is the long-term, culture-impacting consequences of such gross immorality that concerns Christians, not that it will impact our own marriages directly. We care about our nation and our culture: where it's going and what our children will face.

The fact of Scripture and of history is that if we as citizens of our nation do not stop this downward drift, God will! mainly, by just allowing us to descend into the pit of total cultural degeneration and ultimate dissolution. But without the Spirit and the light of Scripture, unregenerate man always fails to see the handwriting on the wall - or, if he sees it, cannot decipher it.

Double-layer tinfoil hat and a triple layer on all windows so Nikos and his blissfully wedded wife can ward off the HomOsmotic transfer of gay rays on his marriage and his homestead.

Nikos, I hear Westboro Baptist could use some new members to picket funerals, movies, plays and other events in the Triad and throughout NC. Gas and airfare have gotten expensive and they NEED local talent. Sounds like you'd be a great addition to their fold.

Very well. Let's point out that Christians have sounded the alarm over many other social issues in a similar manner in the past: slavery and women having the right to vote come to mind immediately. They were wrong in regards to the impact to society, both short-term and in the long haul. In places where gays have gotten the right to marry, in Europe for instance, there is no indication yet that those changes have resulted in social chaos or any significant uptick in meteor strikes. In fact, the only social chaos you'll find in Europe these days comes from... religious zealots.
