Come on, God - vote Republican
Is this over the line -- and if so, how far?
Also...is this guy under the impression that "Hindu" is a deity or spiritual figure that belongs on a list with Buddha and Allah, or does he just know nothing about Hinduism?

Just two examples:
1. Thinking God cares about U.S. political parties or elections; she's too busy to worry about such stuff.
2. Hindu is a deity. (Sounds similar to Vishnu, maybe that's what he was thinking?)
of what an imbecile this guy is.

Having covered a good bit of the campaign, I am pretty sure that if the God I grew up reading about exists, he or she would have nothing to do with the electoral process, much less any of the people involved in it this year.

I keep hearing the trendy "she" when referring to God. Just curious- what do you cite as precedence for your insistence on a feminine God? Are you just trying to poke your finger in God's eye, or are you referring the the ever popular Gaea?
Just curious, you know, for purely conversational purposes.

Views of God and its politics change with social customs. Before the 1700's, God was the best friend and supporters of royalty. When Democracy came into fashion, God was all for it. Heck, Stalin even told his folks that God was on the side of the Soviet Union during their war with Germany.
If you look into the Bible, I think you'll find that there's nothing there about God's concerns over human rights or democracy. And for W J Ellis' edification, I think there's not much about God's genitalia. Though I recall seeing a little something about God's backside in Exodus. :)

Wow, catman, I didn't realize you were a Biblical scholar.
Sounds a bit like intellectual overload- how do you even tolerate us poor, ignorant Bible believing yokels?
BTW, where did all that matter come from for the Big Bang?

So Ellis - why are you trying to switch the subject away from God's politics and gender? Politics was the thread topic, and you introduced gender for some reason. One might think you're uninterested in actually conversing on one topic at a time.

Oh, excuse me. I thought this was a religious blog.
What anyone thinks of God's preferences is either from study of the Bible, or made up out of whole cloth.
I suspect you don't see any difference, hence your smarmy snipes at believers via God..
