Probably more like "afraid that a commotion would draw attention." She could have started screaming the Communist Manifesto, and I expect any robber would run. They count on generating fright and silence for their success.

I don't think the story mentioned specifically what she prayed for -- so that conclusion should remain indeterminate. :)

Give me a break -
If a real god had been on the job the robbery would not have occurred in the first place -

"what she prayed for "........... bet she wasn't prayin' for a big mac to fall out of the sky ! :-)
i suspect we ought to pray for God's will to be done.
if we have any Christians left on this blog, please pray for Dallas WIlliams (he used to blog here before moving to texas)..he has advanced cancer and going for surgery Monday.

If we have to pray for " God's will to be done" then it would follow that God isn't all powerful, omnicscent, omnipotent, etc etc etc- that god needs the help of mere pitiful mortals to " git'er done" Interesting...
Hope your friend gets better.

alice,
it's been awhile but i see you're still hostile to the cross. let me restate what i should have said... we ought to lay aside our will and pray in agreement with God's will, knowing that He is on the throne and fully in charge and capable of executing His will with no help whatsoever. i hope that clears up my faux pas.
thank you for your kind words regarding my friend.

Buz, make sure your friend hears from you- more important than flowers in this situation and definitely better for his recovery and peace of mind. If you can get down there to see him, even better. Your presence will mean so much even if it's only by phone.
