Some abortion foes change shifting focus from ban to reduction
The new movement:
Frustrated by the failure to overturn Roe v. Wade, a growing number of antiabortion pastors, conservative academics and activists are setting aside efforts to outlaw abortion and instead are focusing on building social programs and developing other assistance for pregnant women to reduce the number of abortions.

The effort to find ways to minimize the number of abortions is one that people on both sides of this issue can support. I hope it results in both success for the effort and in reducing the harsh feelings from activists on the opposing sides.

Minimizing abortions is a grand goal to be sure; but at the expense of abandoning the foundational problem, I'm not so sure.
No one wins when we continue to dehumanize the unborn at any stage. This battle should never be abandoned.
