Top religion stories of the year

What a year:
This year’s presidential election played a part in the biggest religion stories of 2008, according to a survey of more than 100 religion journalists.
Barack Obama was named the top Religion Newsmaker of 2008.
The religion specialists chose the controversy surrounding the Rev. Jeremiah Wright as the No. 1 story, with Democratic outreach to faith communities and GOP vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin's selection as the second and third top stories, respectively.

Tomorrow at noon First Friends Meeting (Quaker) 2100 West Friendly Avenue will start our Seventh Annual 24 Hours of Prayer for Peace. The intention of the 24 Hours of Prayer for Peace is to be open and inviting to all people in search of peace, without prejudice to their particular path, and to provide a time and place where the community may come together in prayer and worship.
There will be Worship Services at noon and 11:30 PM on December 31 and at 11 AM on January 1st.
Any thing you might do to make the community aware of our 24 Hours of Prayer for Peace is most appreciated.

ps I have invited President Jimmy Carter and Mrs. Carter to join us each year. Every year President Carter has responded with either a card or note of encouragement. This year I have not heard from President Carter, so maybe this is the year!
