Dropping the prayer?
Readers of The Indianapolis Star woke up to some changes in their newspaper this morning. The Business section was wrapped into the A section. TV listings and classified ads were tucked into a new Extra section. But the thing generating most reader complaints has been the decision by the Star to drop the Prayer from page A2.

I'm afraid this is old news. The prayer got put back in last week, after two lame attempts by the editor to justify taking it out (first- "we're not a church" second-"it doesn't fit the 'mission' of the paper.")

It is sad to hear the continuing removal of biblical content from the media and public arena in general

Would you be happier if they had a Buddhist prayer on Mondays, an Islamic one on Tuesdays, a Wiccan one on Wednesdays, a Christian one on Thursdays, and a generic, one-prayer-please-all (except maybe God) on Fridays? Or a prayer so bland, inclusive, and inoffensive that it said nothing and pleased no one?
