No surprises here- as "mainstream" denominations drift away from their core beliefs, those who wish to remain faithful are finding it harder to justify staying.
I say this for all religions, but specifically for Christians. As the churches try to become relevant in a secular world, they lose the spiritual binding that makes them unique.
Or, in the words of the Bible- be sure you are in this world, but not of it.

Seems that even the Christian Science Monitor thinks that Evangelical Christianity will collapse within the next 20 years or so. Interesting analysis, considering the source.

If it's in the CSM, it must be true. Ms. Eddy was so in touch with evangelists.
All it takes is to have the word "Christian" in your cult's name for people to accept you as a spokesgroup for Christians everywhere. The CSM is a bully pulpit for something that is less than Christ-like.

I take it then, considering that WJ didn't mention any points from the article, that he didn't bother to read it. Doubtless the world needs more reasons to ignore articles found on the internet. It was probably a very valuable service, linking the CSM of 2009 with Mary Baker Eddy. Sort of like linking the Presbyterian Church of today with John Calvin. :)
