Too many developments?
"Transient" makes a good point about housing developments, and it's one I've heard raised many times.
Some folks believe the High Point City Council approves too many housing developments in the north High Point area. What do y'all think?
How many is too many neighborhoods? If it's a nice place to live, why shouldn't other folks have the right to move to north High Point? What should the school system do to meet this growth? (Yes, I'm breaking my own rule here about education postings.) Are we just a bunch of NIMBYS (Not In My BackYard)?

There are TOO many developments when you see our schools at double, triple, and quadruple the capacity of the buildings.
The kids of High Point/Jamestown are already being failed, and the HP City Council continually agrees to ask them to scoot over so more kids can squeeze into their classes.
Becky Smothers and the HP City Council need to stand up for these "SMOTHERED" children. They stood by last year, and again this year and just watched the School Board trample on the kids with their idiotic High Point Forced Busing plan--not saying a WORD.
This sorry group of city leaders were begged last year to take a stand against the HP Choice plan and they all turned their backs.
I see developments going up all the time, but where are the schools? Impact fees are the only solution if this city intends to continue growing. If not, they will lose many, many families.
I'm definitely NOT a NIMBY--I would WELCOME new construction in my backyard, ANYDAY--as long as it's a new school building. High Point owes its children a building as nice, or nicer, than the one Becky Smothers sits in everyday.
