Goody's replacement
Goody's is heading out of High Point, to be replaced by a shop featuring collegiate apparel priced at $9.98 or less. Steve & Barry's University Sportswear is a New York-based retail chain that I hadn't heard of before this week...but it's a rapidly growing company. Fifty more stores are supposed to open across the country this year.
Steve & Barry's is likely to open in October. Goody's lease runs out at the end of August.

Hard to imagine that there is that much collegiate merchandise to fill a store that size. I just can't see that making it.

There is a Steve and Barry's in Charleston,WV. It is a really cool store. They carry all kinds of merchandise for all schools. Everything from hoodies to tee shirts. They also have regular clothes that are priced very low. I can't wait until they open.

I worked at S&B and can tell you that they might be cheap but they’re JERKS to work for and instead of their tag line being “We got your Back” it should be “We stab you in the back.” The Men’s tees are good quality, as are the hoods and jackets(which are the best deals too) but everything else you wash and end up throwing away cause it shrinks to doll size.
Stick to the hoods and go sell them at the next big game for 4 times and profit! Just know that they aren’t an ethical company and they don’t treat their employees very well.

I've worked at Steve & Barry's for more than 2 years and I think they're great!! It's probably the most fun I've ever had while I'm working, because the customers love the store so much. And I wear the clothes every day and I can't enough great things about them. The quality is actually unbelievably good for the prices they charge!
