The Shoppes at Deep River... what's coming?
Developers have filed plans for a couple fo new stores up at The Shoppes at Deep River. So I thought I'd share.
Plans were filed for a Bruster's Ice Cream shop a couple of weeks back. If you're not familiar with Bruster's there's one on N. Main Street (just a block up from the N&R bureau). I've never actually had their ice cream, so I can't tell you if it's good or not. I can tell you it's a 16-year-old chain from Pennsylvania. You can learn more about the company here.
Carolina Bank put in plans this week to build a shop at The Shoppes (Do developers know how much it pains us journalists to write a word like that? Hey I guess they have to name it something.) Carolina Bank is based here in the Triad. The new branch would face Wendover Ave, but be accessed from one of the interior roads in the development.

It is indeed good.

Hey, at least it's not "Ye Olde Shoppes at Deep River."

I hope these sweet shoppes just keep on coming! The more the better. Just bring on the cotton-candy, sweet potatoe pie, Cold Stone's, Ben N Jerry's, Cinn O Buns, etc....
Then maybe we'll all just sit around on our sugar highs and forget that OUR SCHOOLS SUCK!!!

Good. Now there really is no reason to go into downtown High Point, unless you have a craving for a tatoo.
Ice cream social coming up.

I have seen a lot of squirrels lately. It's like they're being shipped here in busloads!

We'll take the squirrels. Just don't bring the nuts from the E-hood with them. I will put out extra bird seed for them to steal from my cardinals, robins and bluebirds.

My girlfriend Natasha and I are conducting many social experiments with your squirrels.
It seems these squirrels can learn equally regardless of how many nuts they had in their nest, or for that matter how big or small their mommys' and daddys' next eggs may have been.
There is one squirrel that came from Doug Clark's yard that does seem to be having problems though. It just whines and complains and tells all the other squirrels how unfair life is, it's starting to depress the other squirrels. I think Natasha is going to let our cat Morris play with it.

I have heard of people who go squirrel hunting. They actually cook squirrel and dumplings. A yummy treat in the South.
If times get tough and you can't sell your house to more up North, you can save money and serve squirrel and dumplings.
