North High Point & Jamestown

Be back in 5 ...

Yup, it's time to hang the old "Closed for the Holiday" sign on the North High Point & Jamestown blog. The kind folks at the News & Record have given me a few days off to join my family for Christmas. I'm headed up to Washington, D.C., so there won't be any updates for a few days.

We'll be back on the 26th. And don't misbehave too much while I'm gone.

Jonathan,

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.

On Monday night Dot accused Darlene about not understanding living in an urban city, such as High Point. To that Darlene stated that she guessed Dot didn't consider Washington, D.C. an urban area.

So, please report back. Is Washington, D.C. anywhere close to being the Urban mecca that High Point is???

Quest,

I sure hope it is not the City of the Dead. Last I check DC was sure hoppin.

It's so pretty at Christmas.

Enjoy your CHRISTmas break Jonathan.

Merry Christmas to all.

I think what Dot meant is that Washington, D.C. does not have any displaced Peanut Farmers from Georgia. Not to mention she still recognizes Richmond as the true Capital of the South and the Kremlin in Moscow as the governing body for the World.

Oh yeah, I saw the replay of the meeting yesterday. It was worth the wait. I would have thought she would have had the tape banned from replay on the cable channel that many days after the meeting. That's one Grinch whose heart didn't grow 3 sizes.

So I've been back for a couple of days but haven't made the time to tend to my blog. I'm such a bad host.

To your question Quest: Hmm. High Point? D.C.? High Point? D.C.? Which one is an urban mecca? Umm, I think we all know that answer.

I enjoyed my break and hope everyone else did too. I've always thought there is something majestic about The Capitol at Christmas with all the holiday decorations and what not. It's also so much quieter than the rest of the year.

Thanks for all the kind messages.
