Update on the N&O

The Durham district attorney tossed out the charge of harassment against the News & Observer reporter who was trying to do his job.

"District Attorney Jim Hardin said in a news release Tuesday that the charge against reporter Demorris Lee had "significant implications" regarding "the First Amendment issues of freedom of speech and freedom of the press."

Thank you.

I'd be curious about the tone of the calls, though I read someplace that they were considered "professional." Having been on the receiving end of questions from ever-vigilant reporters, IT CAN BE SCARY!

It sounds like Hardin made the right call.

Reporters in general are good natured non-violent, non-confrontational and goood citizens. Three cheers for Hardin. Now ask me about Dan Rather.

Happy Thanksgiving JR

Shoot, Fred, I thought that coding thing would trip you up! :)

Thanks for the holiday wishes. Same to you. What about Dan? Doesn't his retirement mean you have to find someone else to bat around?

The coding thing reminds me of the Bob Seger ( & The Silver Bullet Band ) song " Feel like a number " from the album " Stanger in Town ".

There is no danger, absolutely none, of liberal journalists becoming extinct.Dan will be missed but conservatives will have an abundance of characters to kick around in the foreseeable future. Some even close to home here.

Well it's 5 pm somewhere so I think I'll go open that Wild Turkey 101 , I have been savaing.

Prosit

Cool coding! I wish I could figure out how it's done.
