The Barkley Files
Meredith Barkley, a reporter who retired last December to do mission work in Haiti, is back in Greensboro. It's not because he especially wants to be here; the civil unrest in Haiti forced the Haiti Fund to pull its missionaries out.
He looked great and said he'd lost 10 pounds thanks to a diet of beans and rice, and a regimen of hiking everywhere. He's not sure when he'll be able to return to Haiti, but he's eager to go back. The poverty is heart-breaking, he said, and the need is great.
As for his weeks in-country, he filed some updates on the Westminster Presbyterian Church blog.

I am not really sure where to put this, so I am just going to put this at the top. Why is there no "Business Section" in the News & Record?
I just really need that...

Not sure what you mean, Calvin. We have a business section in the last half of the B section in the paper. If you mean the Web site, it's here: http://www.news-record.com/money/news/main.shtml
I enjoy your blog, by the way.

First, thank you for the praise on the blog. We work pretty hard over there to make it be the best we can. We have alot of blog innovations coming up over the next 6 months so stay tuned. :) (Can you stay tuned to a blog?)
Anyways, about the Busines section, I know it is there. I am asking for more busines coverage. I go to the website there are 4 articles there. I know Greensboro has more going on and we need to know about it.
That is all I was merely saying, I would like an actually Business section with more artciles if that is at all possible.
Calvin.
I like your blog also, although you should allow my company XMG Internet Marketing Group (www.xmgonline.com) to redesign it. :)

I hear you. Right now, we have three business reporters and have a job offer out to a fourth. Many of the stories they write go on the front page or on the local front, which is why the "Business" section doesn't have that many local stories.
I wouldn't count on a daily free-standing business section as you asked about in the e-mail to me. While we'd like to do it, it has never seemed to have sufficient advertising support to pay the bills.
