Ask not what your city can do for you

Even though it's still summer and you have better things to occupy your mind -- and I don't even want to consider what those things might be -- we want your help.

The municipal campaign season has officially been open since last Friday. We know who is running for election for city and town councils in our area. Soon their yard signs will be littering the sight lines on the thoroughfares of our great cities.

So, tell us what's on your mind. Yes, we know you can ask Sandy, Tom, Don and Ed directly, but there are many other candidates who aren't blogging. What do you want to know and what do you want us to ask about? Tell us at Inside Scoop.

(If you want to send a more private communication, send an e-mail to Matt Williams or Eric Swensen.)

Update: Oops. I omitted Diane Davis from my list of candidate bloggers above. Thanks, Hardy.

Update 2: Links to all the blogs of candidates and elected officials in the area are here.

Don't forget Diane!

Among blogging candidates, she and Sandy as of late have proven to be the most consistent bloggers.

John,

Thanks for both updates.

For the future, where will readers be able to locate the link to "Blogs from local politicians"?

Also, when I tried to click on Yvonne Johnson's blog, I received this message:

"Sorry! There was an error: Can't evaluate the expression because the name "yvonnejohnsonManilaWebsite" hasn't been defined."

Am not sure if everyone now receives that message or if there is something about my computer that is causing that message to appear.

If you or any other readers know about that, please let me know what you know.

Finally, if you can access Yvonne Johnson's blog, has she updated it since January?

The last time I was able to visit her blog, I believe that was when her last update had been made.

Do you ultimately plan to remove links to politicians after a set amount of time has passed without any updates?

As always, thank you for your time!

Sincerely,

Hardy

Hardy, we lost the politician's link when we redesigned and it's fallen between the cracks. We'll get it back up.

Yvonne hasn't updated for months, best I can tell. It's not just your computer.

We don't have the links down to a science. Because the politicians are -- like many bloggers -- hit and miss on the frequency of their posts, we'll probably leave her link up just to be safe. Who knows, she may update as soon as election season revs up. Meanwhile, her loss.
