Help us give you what you want, Part II
We're going to redesign GoTriad.com, and if you have thoughts -- and I know you do -- we want to hear them. (I'm not sure that the audience for this blog is the audience of Go Triad, but, what the hey, let's give it a shot.) From now until Friday, March 3, we've got a survey up here. It's short and easy.
Our intent is to make the site easier to use, more interactive and more fun. We want to feature more reader-generated content and to use more multi-media. Jeri Rowe is heading up the news department's side of this redesign so it'll be good.

A real suggestion, not a swipe this time...
Please, please improve the events calendar search.

The Sun's search is a bit over the top, but you could use some more categories and date functions.
It would be nice to be able to search for certain TYPES of events -- or even recommended ones -- instead of getting pages upon pages of book readings and such...
Of course, this would mean you've have to have someone enter the data in the events calendar with criteria. But, if you want to get serious about attracting hip, young people who actually would use your product, you need to make it worthwhile.
A venue search would be nice, too. I could search for parks or lakes or museums or other attractions in Guilford County or -- even in specific cities -- and get a list of them.
You also need a better restaurant search. The restaurants that are reviewed -- and more -- need to be put in a database with fielded data and the REVIEWS linked. I searched for steak in Greensboro and got only 16 -- not even the newest swankiest places I know you've reviewed.
Functionality is just as important as content with an entertainment site..
