More on the Danish cartoons
I confess that I'm weary of the debate about publishing the Danish cartoons, but I suspect that some readers are enjoying themselves. In the spirit of civic discussion, coupled with my seeming failure to articulate why we have no plans to publish the cartoons, I offer links to ombudsmen and public editors at other newspapers around the country on the same topic.

I think it's about time we recognize just how fanatical Islam is, this reaction to cartoons, not really allthat offensive, is insanity... I'm sorry but this is the information age, everything is blatant and public, sure, we are all exposed to images, concepts, ideas we don't embrace or find offensive. Their reaction is insane!!!! This seems like some outrageous cheesy movie with an unbelievable plot. It appears as though they're ready to bring war to us on every front. I think it's time the civilized world put its hackles up and drew a line in the sand. We seem to be so sensitive to the innocent followers of Islam that we apologize for monstrous behavior and chalk it up to their lunatic fringe. Well it seems obvious that its no fringe, it would appear to be the trunk.
