Not the best P.G.A.
With everything else going on, does the Greensboro City Council really want to do this? On the other hand, imagine the possibilities for topics to consider once the council opens itself up to polygraphs.

I say we throw them all in a lake, the one that floats is guilty.
Seriously though, this seems to me to be beneath the dignity of the office -- and what will it prove? The results of a polygraph test are not conclusive. In fact, if reported rates of false positives are accurate, it's quite possible that an innocent person will come under suspicion.

Roch is exactly correct. It is indeed undignified and polygraphs are NOT the exact science some think they are. This attempt at "smoking out" the guilty party rather than confronting it directly is disingenuous at best. Frankly, I think they look a little silly and wonder if this tactic isn't going to cause more harm than good. Of course, they'll blame it all on the "leaker."

Hell may not be factual either, but it does a good job in keeping a lot of folks on the straight and narrow. So with the threat of a polygraph. The possibility of politicians even believing that there may be consequences for lying is simply too delicious for me to pass up.
And if the council overwhelmingly wants to compromise its dignity, I say let 'em.

I was stunned when I read it. Just stunned. If Roch's not right, then we should try the witch-hunt thing. Oh wait, they've already done that...

How about "guilt by innuendo," or "convicted by gossip?" The City Council is making a bad thing worse by its behavior.
