A quick and easy history lesson
Check this out about the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Or, if you prefer, the printed versions.
Every journalist should love history, given that we record it every day. Greensboro and Guilford County is rich in historical events that changed the nation. One of our initiatives is to use all the tools we can to tell that story. We will continue to build this site, as it stands along side the Sit-ins site.

Thanks, what a great presentation! Though I've been to the Park many times I've never looked in depth at the actions there.

Being concerned that our youth are beginning to think that General Nathaniel Greene is a brewmaster, I applaud the News and Record continual coverage or recounts of our area history.
Now, that is not to say that I do not enjoy a Natty Greene's Guilford Golden Pale Ale occassionally.
Our kids needs to be continual basked in the historic facts and legacy despite or because of the commercialism of our forefathers names.

Thanks. This may be the first compliment you've given us, jaycee. I've passed it along to the people who actually did the work on the video.
Joel, I hear you on the brew. As we get closer to the city's bicentennial, I think you'll be pleased with the amount of history we publish here and in the paper. At least I hope so.
